Adult Day Ministry
Calvin Cove is celebrating 24 years as an outreach ministry of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Snellville Georgia. Since 1999, we have served hundreds of participants with the assistance of 318 loving, caring volunteers and Directors who have a heart for seniors. We provide a Respite Program for the caregivers of older adults. Our goal is to allow caregivers time to rest and recharge with a little time for themselves to engage with their friends and enjoy life. The ministry is designed to meet the social and emotional needs of older adults with mild to moderate impairments. Caregivers and care receivers both benefit from a little time apart. Calvin Cove is a not-for-profit program serving all economic levels, ethnic backgrounds, and religious beliefs.
Activities
Daily activities include morning Devotionals, arts and crafts, music therapy, “senior Cize/ chair exercise”, inspiring conversation, games, and visits from Special Guests.
Nutrition
Our participants are served a morning snack and a balanced hot lunch daily. All drinks are caffeine and sugar-free.
Criteria
We serve Seniors, many of whom have early stages of dementia, Alzheimer’s Parkinson’s, strokes, cerebral palsy, mental disabilities, and frail health.
Participants should be able to navigate the facility with minimal assistance, manage their self-care needs independently, and self-feed.
