About Our Women’s Ministry
Women of Westminster (WOW) exist to bring the women of the church and community into a relationship with one another in a Christian atmosphere to grow spiritually in fellowship and Bible Study outside of their daily habitat. Annually they have seasonal lunches after church with special programs, a Women’s Retreat, and Special Events. They are directed by a WOW Council and support service ministries of the Church.
We also have two Bible Study Circle opportunities:
Hannah Circle
Meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (September-May) at 7:00 pm in the Bride’s/Prayer Room, across from the Parlor. The group will resume on September 16. Look for study information soon!
Ruth Circle
Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (September-May) at 10:30 am at the home of Liz Gray. We look forward to continuing our study of the Holy Spirit in September.
Annual Luncheons
The Women of Westminster gather in the Winter for a formal luncheon each winter. The ladies host tables and decorate them with their best china. Member and Chef Colin usually prepares a wonderful lunch, we have inspiring music from one of our young people and a guest speaker. In the Summer, the Women have a paper plate luncheon that is more casual but nonetheless fun. There is delicious food, singing, and a motivating speaker.
Extra Events
The Women of Westminster love to go and do. We plan trips for our ladies to places like the Madison Tea Room, Gibbs Gardens, the Aurora Theater, and La Madeline’s Restaurant. These events are intended to promote fun and fellowship.
Annual WOW Retreat
Annually our Women gather in North Georgia for a weekend of fellowship and fun. Incorporated in the weekend is an inspiration study, quiet time, devotion and prayer groups. We go hiking, do yoga, watch movies, hit the local antique stores and simply enjoy each other’s company. We have a blast cooking together and enjoying delicious home-cooked meals. This retreat is usually in the Fall and will be announced soon. All ladies are welcome.
